The article discusses the activities of the armenian parties Dashnaktsutyun and Gnchak on the
territory of the Black sea province at the beginning of the XX century. The article is paid attention to the
reasons of participation of armenians in the revolutionary events of 1905–1907.
The authors have selected as materials the archival documents of the central and regional archives,
namely the state archive of Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, the
state archive of the Krasnodar Krai, a documentation center of the modern history of the Krasnodar Krai, the
archive department of Sochi city and the museum of Sochi history.
The authors come to the conclusion that despite the existing problems in relations with the armenian
population of the Black sea province until 1905, the armenians are forced to participate in the riots of the
First russian Revolution. Later, during the investigation of the Sochi republic that has been established, and
the Armenian population avoided the criminal liability.
