Please note that short courses are very intensive and cannot be taken together with any other course.

Admission requirements

·      Please consult https://www.cbs.dk/uddannelse/international-summer-university-programme-isup/application-and-fees/exchange-students

·     ·      Students of good academic standing. Exchange students are not required to submit any proof of English proficiency, but since all courses are taught in English and at a high academic level it is highly recommended to have a strong command in both oral and written English otherwise it might be difficult to follow the courses and pass the exams.

The ISU^WU on-line is a short-term program offer for international bachelor´s and master´s students running in July. A minimum of two intensive weeks each are planned. Additionally individual and group assignments are organized before and after the intensive weeks.

Marketing Spring Program

The Marketing Spring Program is a two-week program for undergraduate students, running from May 17 –28, 2021. It will take place in Vienna in the first week and in Krems in the second week.

University College Dublin English Langauge Academy

Summer University Program

UCD English Langauge Academy is the university's English langauge summer school. The school invites groups of students from around the globe to visit UCD for a fantastic summer experience where students can improve their English while also learning about Irish culture and exploring Dublin and the beautiful Irish countryside.

Student can spend 2 or 4 weeks living on UCD’s excellent campus where they will follow a programme of English language tuition along with academic workshops and cultural activities. Accommodation will be provided on campus in our superb student residential accommodation and students will be able to avail of all the excellent facilities on campus.

Course Details

• English langauge tuition with a focus on speaking practice, expanding spoken vocabulary,  improving fluency, modern and effective listening and reading content, targeted individual feedback and access to additional online resources
• Academic workshops offer students the opportunity to practice their research and academic writing skills 
• Cultural activities will ensure that students explore Irish history, music, culture and food in a fun environment through a well-structured social programme
• On-campus accommodation in excellent shared apartments with en-suite options and just a 10 minute walk to class each day
• On-campus facilities include an excellent sports centre with Olympic-sized swimming pool, gym floor and fitness classes, restaurants and cafés, a student bar, a bookshop, a cinema, a bank and post office and a mini supermarket

Module 1: Sustainability and Ecological Awareness (not available in 2020)

June 15 - June 19, 2020

In this course, we will examine whether Germany is still the Green leader it once was hyped up to be. We will talk about the traditional German environmental awareness and dive deep into specific German ways of putting it into practice in order to meet the accepted target corridor of the Paris agreement. By doing so, you will gain insights into different aspects of the German economy in terms of sustainability and how it affects society, different players and people's everyday lives. Moreover, we will have to raise questions on a personal level concerning our individual consumption patterns and our ecological footprint.

Module 2: Entrepreneurship and Innovation

June 22 - June 26, 2020

The focus of this course is to supply students with a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and practical tools to create ideas and start their own business. Light is also shed on competitive positioning and advantage, and strategic dimensions of recent developments in the market such as digitalization (e.g., artificial intelligence, big data) and their implications for new ventures and business models. Students will have the chance to understand and train these tools and topics while developing and presenting their own business idea in a team. Company visits to start-ups complement the lectures.

Module 3: Introduction to the World of Big Data & Analytics

June 29 - July 3, 2020

In this course, we will dive deep into the world of Big Data. We will talk about the core characteristics of Big Data and where Big Data influences our everyday life. Topics to be discussed include an introduction to the tools and methods used to analyze Big Data, an overview of what can and can't be learned from Big Data, hot topics regarding Big Data ethics and privacy and the presentation of several Big Data use cases. This module is designed for those who are relatively new to the world of Big Data and want to become conversant with the terminology and the core concepts of the Big Data world.
