​The purpose of the Institute is to conduct fundamental, exploratory and applied research and development for various state and non-state customers, including the implementation of research projects and grants allocated on a competitive basis by domestic and foreign scientific foundations (RNF, RGNF, RFBR and mn. others), providing legal and physical persons paid scientific, educational and consulting services. Implementation of a set of measures for the systematic study of the problems of development of the sustainable functioning of the national system of food security in order to create food security conditions.
