Founded in 1907
The purpose of the Institute is to conduct fundamental, exploratory and applied research and development for various state and non-state customers, including the implementation of research projects and grants allocated on a competitive basis by domestic and foreign scientific foundations (RNF, RGNF, RFBR and mn. others), providing legal and physical persons paid scientific, educational and consulting services. Implementation of a set of measures for the systematic study of the problems of development of the sustainable functioning of the national system of food security in order to create food security conditions.
Objectives of the Institute:
1. Together with the departments of the University, attracting the most active part of the teaching staff (young scientists, graduate students):
to carry out fundamental, applied and exploratory research on topical issues in the field of food security, as well as to prepare on this basis expert and information-analytical materials;
to develop a strategy and to forecast the development of the food security system;
to carry out complex scientific examination, to study dynamics of development in the field of management of system of food safety taking into account regional features;
develop proposals with economic justification for improving the management system of enterprises and organizations of agroindustrial complex;
develop programs, projects and proposals for participation in international, national, sectoral and regional programs and competitions;
perform research and other services on the basis of economic contracts.
2. In conjunction with the International Office:
to carry out international scientific cooperation, to participate in joint research with foreign partners, including the assignment of scientists to foreign countries and to receive foreign scientists, to carry out international scientific events, to publicly present joint scientific research.
The main directions of scientific activity
Research activities are carried out in the research Institute of Food security in the following areas:
formation of proposals in the field of sustainable development of the national system of food security in order to create food security conditions;
formation of institutional conditions for the implementation of methodological and methodical bases of sustainable development of the national system of food security;
directions and forms of creation of effective economic structure of product type, system and mechanism of management of interaction of its elements;
creation of an adapted mechanism to stimulate the production of food products;
improving the mechanism for ensuring the conditions for the effective use of resources in the national food security system;
development of scenarios for long-term economic development plans of the national food security system;
organization of scientific events, publication of scientific literature.
