Research Institute "Strategic information technologies" was created in 2015 with the aim:

• creation, maintenance and development of competences of UNC "Cybernetics" in the field of design and development of information technologies and systems, it management; 
  
• search of potential customers, initiation and implementation of R & d (research works in the sphere of strategic information technologies and software development) at the expense of attracted funds grants and contracts on performance of works (rendering of services);
  
• involvement of students and postgraduates in the process of creating, developing and implementing high-tech products or technologies.
  

In addition, research Institute staff provides information, organizational and methodological support in the initiation, promotion and implementation of innovative projects and research in the field of information technology, carried out by structures, students and postgraduates of the University.
