​​​​​The official opening date of Technology Faculty "Catering Business" at Plekhanov Moscow Commercial Institute is 1941. Training of specialists in catering of higher education in our country began in 1921

Only in the last 10 years the Department has trained more than 1,200 engineers in the specialty "Technology of products of public catering". Since 2011, the Department conducts admission of students and bachelors. Direction of training "Technological machines and equipment" profile "Machines and equipment for food production" and "Production Technology and organization of public catering", profile "Technology and organization of restaurant business".

C 2014 the Department conducts admission of applicants and bachelors in the direction 080200 "Management" profile: "Management of restaurant business".
