T​he institute was established in 1964. It joined Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in 2013.

A high profile institution with constantly evolving structure; a leading economic and trade institution in the Kama Region, training specialists in the sphere of consumer market and services. 2752 students study at Perm's branch of PRUE.
