Kemerovo Institute (branch) of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics traces its history to 1963. In December of 1994 it took its status of the institute and now has been training highly qualified specialists for the major industries and trade of Kuzbass for over half a century.

The Institute runs the basic professional educational programs of secondary, higher and secondary vocational education keeping strong positions on Kemerovo region educational market.

Within continuing educational framework the institute fulfills the following educational programs as parts of the multi-level system:

 • pre-university education;

 • secondary vocational education;

 • higher education – graduate programs (bachelor, specialty, master), postgraduate programs;

 • additional continuing education.

The Institute consists of three departments, College of Information Technology and of Economics and Law, 6 chairs, 3 centers and 9 subdivisions. Innovative direction of the regional economy development, support for priority projects and the analysis of the external economic situation nowadays require from the professionals deep scientific knowledge, professional and general cultural competence. Kemerovo Institute (branch) of PREU provides this start-up necessary for the beginning of a successful career to its graduates.

About 3000 students of secondary vocational education, higher and postgraduate education study at the university. Over a thousand specialists annually improve their skills at the university through additional educational programs. The intellectual core of the university is the highly skilled staff, 70% of whom have scientific degrees or titles and an extensive practical experience.

The institute has developed the system of state and private partnerships with more than 100 enterprises and organizations of the Kemerovo region, state authorities and institutions of  local government.
