Founded in 1907
On November 24-25 Naberezhnye Chelny Institute of Kazan Federal University held the II international scientific conference "Visual communication in the socio-cultural dynamics". The event was organized by the Department of mass communications, which won a grant for a scientific conference from the Russian humanitarian scientific Foundation and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan. This allowed the organizers to publish a collected works by the beginning of the conference, including 106 articles, and to invite well-known Russian researchers of visual communication in Naberezhnye Chelny.
Among the invited guests there was E.V. Barkova, Professor of Academic Department of History and Philosophy of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. She made her first report to the plenary conference and took an active part in the discussions and deliberations of the issues raised by the participants.
The study of the visual aspect of the various spheres of life: politics, journalism, advertising, art, education is one of the most important areas of socio-humanitarian knowledge. To participate in the conference there were submitted for 189 applications from China, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, Moldova, and also from 34 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk, Saratov, Tomsk, Rostov-on-don, Kazan, and Izhevsk.
