Founded in 1907
On 27th of April Plekhanov Russian University of Economics welcomed French representatives of Institute Paul Bocuse (High school of management in the sphere of hotel and restaurant business and culinary arts): Mathieu Mouton, director on international development, and Angelica Cajon, coordinator of Students Mobility Institute.
High school of management in the sphere of hotel and restaurant business and culinary arts was founded by Paul Bocuse in 1990. For more than 20 years Paul Bocuse Institute is firmly positioned at the forefront of trends. The Institute is actively involved in the development of cultural practices and hotel and restaurant management. Paul Bocuse Institute also accepts graduate students in their science and research center. At the Institute operates restaurant-school and hotel "Royal" in the middle of Lyon which is the base for the practice of students at high school.
Paul Bocuse is a legendary personality in France. He was awarded with the title of "Best Chef of France" in 1961, awarded with the Order of Legion of Honor in 1975. Paul Bocuse established an international competition of high cuisine "Gold Bocuse". In 2004 Paul Bocuse Institute initiated the creation of international association that united leading educational institutions in the sphere of hotel management and culinary arts from Greece, Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, USA, Taiwan, Chili, Finland, France, Ecuador, South Korea, South Africa, Japan. In 1989 Paul Bocuse got the title of Chef of the century.
Meetings of French delegation took place at faculty of hotel, restaurant, tourism and sport industry and International Office at PRUE. Tatiana Voronova, vice-rector for personnel development, professor, told about HRTSI faculty and perspectives of its development, Leonid Popov, head of the Department of Hotel and Tourist Business, presented bachelors and masters programs on preparation in the sphere of hospitality, Elena Myasnikova and Tatiana Zhubreva, associate professors of the department of technology and organization of catering enterprises, informed about peculiarities of specialists in the sphere of restaurant business and catering preparation at PRUE. Leonid Bragin, head of International Office, discussed the questions of interaction on organization of academic mobility between universities and informed about organization of International Office.
During hosted negotiations, representatives of two educational institutions discussed the following formats of cooperation: student mobility with the faculty HRTSI, possibilities of creation of cooperative programs in the sphere of hospitality and restaurant business and also potential directions of scientific cooperation of departments of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics with High school of management in the sphere of hotel and restaurant business and culinary arts (Paul Bocuse Institute).
After negotiations representatives of Institute had an excursion around historical buildings of the university and also visited the laboratories of the department of technology and organization of catering enterprises: technological laboratory and laboratory of physical and chemical researches and exploring of physical and mechanical properties of food accompanied by E. Myasnikova.
