Founded in 1907
February 20-21 Kazan held the IV International festival of patriotic cinema in the run-up to Defender's Day. The "Best documentary" award was given to the film "The right for feat", made by Sevastopol branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, supervised by Igor Shevchuk under the support of PRUE.
The documentary "The right for feat" is devoted to the heroic events of November 1941 when five sailors of the Black Sea Fleet blocked fascist tanks at Sevastopol. 75 years has passed since the operations near Duvankoy close to Sevastopol (Verkhnesadovoye village) but the names of immortal heroes today continue to live in the memory of posterity, proving the greatness of spirit, courage, bravery and heroism of the Russian people in the Great Patriotic War.
In the frames of the Festival there were featured the best works on the theme of love of country in different format: documentary, full-length feature films, short films, animation, and others. Among participants there were directors and creative teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Iran and Serbia. This year the competition has received more than 300 works, reached the final 48. The finalists participated in master classes, creative meetings with actors of theatre and cinema, conferences.
The organizers of the International film festival "Defenders of the Fatherland" were the children's Studio "Young Director" and the charity Fund of veterans of the airborne troops and special forces "Kindly hearts".
