Joint Institute for Nuclear Research hosted the VII international school of Informational Technologies "AIS-GRID' 2016" from the 24th to 28th of October. The School was organized by ISIT, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva), MEPhI and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, which took part in the organization for the first time. The event participants were 95 listeners from 11 Universities: HSE, ENU (Kazakhstan), "LETI", MSU, MEPhI, RUDN, PRUE, Samara University, SPbU, Tver State University, University "Dubna".
Leading specialists of CERN and JINR gave reports at the event. The Euroean organization was presented by a big group of young scientists: R.S. Herves, B. Wallet, S. Masue, A. Matilla, M. Lectures were devoted to knowledge and experience of managing multiple scientific complexes and informational systems transfer by the example of the technologies developed by JINR and CERN.
The School program included a set of contests. Traditionally, the main competitions were made by CERN specialists. It is a test for participants with a list of questions on modern informational technologies (52 challenge questions on 17 topic sections), also there was a contest of the best algorithm and its realization in the computer game "Grid Wars 2016". Participants were able to compete individually or within a group of three.
According to the contest results the premier place was taken by Igor Shemyakin and Yuliya Polevik, students of Faculty of Mathematical Economics, Statistics and Informatics of PRUE; a student Mariya Kuznetsova was the second. The third place was gained by a representative of the international University "Dubna", Aleksey Gorbunov. At the competition for the best algorithm (Hackathon) there were four medal places. The two first were taken by two teams of University "Dubna"; the third one was for the SPbU; and the fourth one was gained by a PRUE team: Igor Shemyakin, Yuliya Polevik and Mariya Kuznetsova.
On the last day of School participants got the certificates. At the awarding ceremony there was S. D. Valentey, a research advisor of PRUE, V.V.
