On 26th of April an International conference of Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and European Council "Rights of the person and biomedicine: ethnic and legal aspects of donation of human organs" on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Russian Federation membership in the European Council.

 

Russian Economic University of Economics presented Svetlana Vasileva, leading scientific staff member of Research Center of Strategic Development.

 

At the conference presented participants of Russian Federation and European Council among which representatives of executive authority, scientific and juridical society, practicing surgeons and transplantologists: Dmitry Kostennikov, deputy of minister of Health of Russian Federation, L. Kozlova, deputy chairman of Committee of the Council of RF Federation on social policy, Aleksandr Kurmaz, deputy of the chairman  Department of European Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, F. Boillat, General Director of the Directorate General of Human Rights and the rule of law of European Council, Daniel Tarchis, former General secretary of European Council, H. Arias-Diaz, professor of surgery of Complutense University of Madrid, and many others.

 

Besides the presentation of Convention on human rights and biomedicine and also discussion of changes in Russian legislation concerning the regulation of donation and transplantation, the new program of professional training in the field of protection of human rights "HELP" was presented to the participants. The program is aimed at training and qualification of lawyers. M. Lobov, head of European Council Department on policy in the sphere of human rights and cooperation, called for cooperation the leading Russian universities for the organization of training sites and the formation of cross-industry knowledge.
