​On December 27 within the regional stage of the XXV International Christmas educational readings "1917-2017: lessons of the century", Seva​stopol branch of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics held a round table "About faith, impiety and doubt", dedicated to Metropolitan Veniamin (Fedchenkov), Bishop of Sevastopol.


The Christmas educational readings on the threshold of the New Year holiday and Christmas are held all over Russia and abroad to develop outreach activities of Orthodox Church in the today's society. The topic of the readings this year:"1917-2017: lessons of the century" has been chosen for a reason as it needs a deep and thoughtful understanding of the past century: the consequences and results of the October revolution of 1917 which took place in Russia and became the defining moment both in the newest history of our country and in the whole European history of the XX century.


Within the round table "About faith, impiety and doubt" at Sevastopol branch of PRUE there were presented the following reports:" Ministration of Metropolitan Veniamin (Fedchenkov) in the Crimea. (1918- November 1920)" by E. Abramova, head of Academic Department of social and humanitarian disciplines of Tavria seminary; "Repentant days on pages of Crimean journals (September 1920)" by V. Prokopenkova, chairman of SO "Sevastopol of Tavria"; "The years of immigration and returning of Metropolitan Veniamin (Fedchenkov)" by the helper of the rural dean of Sevastopol district of archpriest Stephan and "The Pskov Monastery of the Caves. The last years of life of Metropolitan Veniamin (Fedchenkov)" by I. Shevchuk, director of Sevastopol branch of PRUE. The guest of honor of the event has been T. Scherbakova, the deputy of Legislative Assembly of the city of Sevastopol on social and humanitarian questions.


The round table concluded its work with the performance of the creative team of Plekhanov students.​
