The international rating agency Quacquarelli Symonds has published the 7th issue of the world university rating in training courses (QS World University Rankings by Subject). In order to make this rating institutions were estimated by four criteria: opinion of the academic community, opinion of employers, index citation and h-index.

Universities of 74 countries have participated in the rating, and 46 best in subjects had been chosen. In 2017 28 Russian higher education institutions took 147 positions of 46 subjects.

For the first time Plekhanov Russian University of Economics has hit the number of the best universities of the world in the course "Social sciences and management" (positions 401-450). Only four Russian institutions hit the rating in this course: MSU, HSE, Saint Petersburg State University, and PRUE.

Since 2013, PRUE implemented the strategy of internationalization activities, part of which is the increase in the number of publications in journals indexed in international scientometric systems Scopus and Web of Science. The number of publications of scientists of PRUE, indexed in Scopus, for 2011-2015, the period which was taken into account for this rating increased from 22 to 158 (more than 7 times), and the number of citations has increased almost 10 times. With 2014 due to internal grants PRUE was stimulated by research in two areas: "Social sciences and management" and "Economics and econometrics", the proportion of publications in which at the time of rating were 24,2% and 23,9%, and by the end of 2016 respectively has increased to 26,5% and 24,5% of the total number of publications of scientists of PRUE.

We congratulate instructors and scientific workers of Plekhanov University on the well-deserved international recognition!
