At Plekhanov Russian University of Economics a round table entitled “Michel Kataná: fashion business. Opportunities of collaboration” took place

On 24th of February the round table entitled "Michel Kataná: fashion-business. Opportunities of collaboration" took place. Students and professors met with an owner and designer of international accessories brand "Michel Katana"™ and his colleagues. At the meeting they told about the company that successfully works with fashion-business.


During the round table the possibilities of cooperation of this brand with students that study at the faculty of trade economics and commodity science in the direction of "Commodity" and with students of faculty of applied baccalaureate in the direction "Design". The following questions were highlighted: the place of the Michel Kataná brand in the modern fashion business in Russia; directions of cooperation in terms of research work of students; specialties of conducting the practice of students in retail stores of key customers; organization of creative work of creative student groups for realization of business goals; conducting of University competition for creation of brand scarf in the style and character of Michel Kataná brand.


Students and professors showed the interest to discussed theme of cooperation, expressed their desires to visit the exhibition stand of the brand at Expocentre where at this moment thematic display "Collection Premiere Moscow" is held.


French designer Michel Kataná told that he studied at Orleans University at the faculty of applied art where he decided to create his own brand for production of fashion accessories as elements creating the character of the style.


Maestro Katana shared the specialties of work, stylistic directions of designer ideas, tendencies of modern accessories fashion and answered numerous questions of listeners. Today the brand "Michel Kataná"™ concentrated its forces on creation of the design and brand-communications. Production of accessories is carried out at the markets of European countries (France, Italy, Hungary) under the control of brand-specialists. On the results of the meeting a lot of students showed the desire to pass the externship in the company "Michel Kataná"™.


At the meeting organized by the faculty of trade economics and commodity science, deans of the faculty of trade economics and commodity science and faculty of applied baccalaureate were present, members of the staff of academic department of commodity science and commodity examination and also the professors of academic department of advertising, public relations and design.


The round table was terminated by setting the exact plans on extending the cooperation of the company "Michel Kataná" and our university.
