Members of the Russian Parliament, government agencies’ managers, heads of Russian regions, and other officials, businessmen and scientists participated at the parliament hearings at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The basic motive of the hearings was the re-industrialization of Russian regions economy as overriding term for economic development.
The hearings were opened by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina I. Matviyenko with a report on a situation in the Russian economy. Valentina I. Matviyenko pointed that the Russian economy remains stable with low rate of national debt and sufficient funds. Moreover, Matviyenko considered that national consumer market has a great potential.
Matviyenko said that one of the most important elements of national development is the enlargement of knowledge in economics and involvement of results of intellectual activities. The Chairman stressed the Industrial Policy Act and the role of the Russian regions in re-industrialization.
