Forbes: Plekhanov University is on the list of the universities that have trained the majority of political and economic elite

Forbes have published the list of 20 Russian universities, which have trained the majority of political and economic elite.


This list includes those universities that have trained the largest number of successful politicians, officials, billionaires and Boards of Directors members of major Russian and international companies. The universities are ranked according to the percentage of “star” graduates to the total number of graduates. Such ranking helps to see which universities provide the education that more likely allows becoming part of the Russian elite. There are 17 universities of Moscow, 2 – of St. Petersburg and 1 – of Novosibirsk, as shown in the rating.


Plekhanov University of Economics has hit the list of the universities, which are “forges of billionaires”. There are 52 Plekhanov people on the list of the elite graduates, according to Forbes.


Forbes outlined the following well-known Plekhanov graduates: Vice-Premier of the Government of Russia Tatiana Golikova, Minister of national economy Dmitry Patrushev, Governor of Lipetsk oblast Igor Artamonov, Governor of Ivanovo oblast Stanislav Voskresensky, businesspersons Andrey Melnichenko, Yury Shefler and Ilya Scherbovich.
