​November 30, 2017, Plekhanov University welcomed the delegation from the Embassy of Columbia in the Russian Federation headed by Charge d'affaires Mrs. Adriana Castro Lopes and a well-known Columbian expert researcher professor Roberto Steiner, a leading analyst of National center of socio-economical researches Fedesarollo.

Roberto Steiner is also famous not just for his books and articles on the world economics, econometrics and financial economics, published in the credible international scientific journals such as World Development, IMF Staff Papers, Journal of Development Economics, Emerging Markets Review and Economia, but for being a good economist and a managing expert.

R. Steiner has a great experience in the largest national and international organizations like Central Bank of Columbia, where he work as a director of research department, he was a member of the board of directors of Columbian fund stock, Columbian division of international bank ING, Generalli Seguros corporation, and a largest in the country oil company Ecopetrol. Roberto Steiner used to work as a consultant of the Inter-American development bank, the World Bank and the other international and national organizations.

Today Roberto Steiner is a leading analyst of the National center of socio-economical researches Fedesarollo. He has given a lecture in English on "Columbia: analysis of the strengths, challenges and opportunities" for students of IBS-Plekhanov and Faculty of Finance and presented the courses of development of his country's economy. A presentation and analysis of import and export of Columbian goods accompanied the lecture.

Dean of IBS-Plekhanov N. Ponomareva welcomed the guests and discussed the issues of the further interaction with the Columbian institutions, and thanked the Embassy for  assistance in establishing cooperation.
