​On March 22, 2018, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkadiy Dvorkovich visited Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The politician had a meeting with students and the faculty of the University, told them about prospects of digital economy development in Russia, informed about draft laws of this sphere, and answered some questions.


Rector of PRUE V. Grishin opened the event, introduced Arkadiy Dvorkovich to the audience not only as a politician and a well-known economist but also as a sportive, smart man. "Arkadiy Vladimirovich field of activity includes not only economic and political issues; he pays attention to his well-being through the sports: chess, football and basketball. It proves that a healthy lifestyle is a vital part of a successful person" – outlined Rector.


At the beginning of the speech, Arkadiy said about digital economy development in Russia: its significance, advantages and problems, pointing out the main directions its development, which are education, infrastructure and cybersecurity: "It is important that specialists in the digital economy are highly qualified, so it is important to pay special attention to their training. In addition, the country's infrastructure and, of course, information security are important, so that all data is under reliable protection".


The Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the Russian Federation also informed the audience about such projects as "Smart city", "Smart health care", and "Smart transport". Answering students' questions, Arkadiy stressed out "we must change the state standards, however, today there are 18 institutes which can define the standards of education if this sphere".


There were questions about popular business development directions, goods quality estimation, prospects of various professions, and about science knowledge-intensive projects, that will be in demand the next 5 years. Arkadiy Dvorkovich highlighted that "strategically important developments are in nuclear physics and space activity". Speaking about the changes in the field of product quality assessment, he noted that this is necessary, since "safety should be one hundred percent everywhere", and therefore, experts in this field are very popular.


Closing the speech, Arkadiy thanked the audience for activity and wished them success in professional development.
