Academic Council gathers for a regular session at Plekhanov University

​On April 24, 2018, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics holds a regular meeting of Academic Council. The agenda consisted of 4 issues: elections of a dean of faculty and heads of academic departments; obtaining academic titles; a report by vice-rector for staff development and innovations A. Shklyaev "On organizational structure of educational and scientific activity of the University in 2018/2019 academic year", and other issues.

 

Vladimir I. Resin was presented to the post of head of Academic Department of Management of Projects and Programs, who in his speech noted the history of the Department, the changes that have occurred on it, drew attention to the staff – the average age, the percentage of teachers.

 

Also, V. I. Resin reported on research, methodological, educational and educational activities, stressing that during the reporting period (2015-2018) the number of scientific publications, monographs, textbooks, launched an electronic educational resource has increased; the number of conferences and Olympiads has increased. In addition, in his speech, Vladimir Iosifovich presented the program of development of the Department for 2018-2020, according to which it is planned to reduce the average age of the teaching staff, increase the percentage of staff to 100%, and improve the readings for all activities.

 

At the end of the speech, Resin, answering the questions of members of Academic Council, said: students of the Department participate in the city project "Renovation"; directions of training of the Department are in demand in the labor market, so 80% of graduates successfully get a job in the specialty; loading of teachers of the Department increases, there are invited foreign teachers, lectures in English.

 

Anatoly A. Popov in his report on the development plan of Academic Department of Chemistry and Physics stressed the following: scientific developments of employees of the Department, compliance with the directions of training of bachelors and specialists with educational standards and curricula; scientific potential of the Department – the number of employees, graduate students and assistants; the use of modern technical means, innovative technologies in training and research; participation of employees in the implementation of grants and patents; the use of the center for collective use, as well as the interest of students and high school students in participating in conferences and competitions.

 

Elena V. Ustyuzhanina, a candidate for a position of the head of Academic Department of Economic Theory, presented a report on the Department's work: on the interaction of the Department with the faculties of the University, the results of the rating, according to which, the Department of economic theory moved from 8th place in 2017 to 2nd in the first quarter of 2018, the implementation of additional education programs, the receipt of extra-budgetary funds from which amount to 4.6 million rubles.

  

The next candidate, Denis M. Davydov presented his report about Faculty of Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism and Sport Industry

 

The second issue of the agenda was obtaining academic titles of professor and associate professor of chairs. Head of Teaching staff certification department Marina I. Skripnikova presented the list of candidates. After that, the secret ballot was declared open, and the counting Board began its work.

 

Vice-rector for staff development and innovations Andrey E. Shklyaev made a report "On organizational structure of educational and scientific activity of the University in 2018/2019 academic year", in shich he pointed out the main innovations in the University's structure.

 

In his speech, Andrey Evgenyevich outlined the task set by the rector-optimization of management processes and costs to improve the efficiency and quality of educational and scientific activities of the University and its solutions.

 

At the end of the meeting of the Academic Council, the results of a secret ballot were announced, according to which it was decided to assign academic titles and positions to all candidates.
