Humanitarian Training Centre together with the Academic Department of Foreign Languages №2 held a competition that brought together students from PRUE, universities of Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan and regions of Russia.
The participants tried themselves as public speakers, demonstrating not only excellent command of the English language, but also outstanding oratory skills. The jury evaluated the contestants according to four criteria: language literacy, persuasiveness of arguments, creative approach, adequacy of answers to audience questions.
By a unanimous decision of the jury, the winners of the competition were recognized as a student of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai (KazNPU), Madina Moldagali, and PRUE student, Nikolay Sviridov.
The second prize was shared by Zhanara Tusupova, a representative of KazNPU and Sofia Nikolaenko, a student of Plekhanov University.
The diploma of the third degree was awarded to Armen Artinian, a student of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.
"All the participants showed excellent oratorical qualities, especially the fact that novice speakers know how to defend their point of view and convince the audience of the reasonableness of their choice", - said Armine Eduardovna Grigoryan, senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages No. 2.
