Student Exchange: Cooperation with India

WhatsApp Image 2022-07-18 at 13.00.49.jpegInga Koryagina, International Office of the Higher School of Finance and Konstintin Ordov, Acting Director of the Higher School of Finance, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, conducted an online introductory meeting with the heads of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS Pilani), Pilani, India, which had become the first recognized university internationally. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, is a leader in the fields of science, engineering, management and research, which is among the six highest institutions with the status of eminence.

Internationally, BITS Pilani was ranked 1001–1200 in the QS World University Rankings. In India, BITS Pilani was ranked 27 overall in 2020 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The Department of Management was ranked 10 among private management schools in India by Outlook India.

The meeting was attended by BITS Pilani Director Dr, Professor Sudhirkumar Barai, Dr Dalip Kumar, Associate Dean for International Programmes and Cooperation, and Associate Deans of Goa, Hyderabad, Dubai and Mumbai campuses.

At the beginning of the meeting, the development programs of the Higher School of Finance of Plekhanov University and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS Pilani) were presented. In a friendly atmosphere, topical issues of the current state of affairs in the higher education in Russia and India were discussed. During the negotiations, issues of student exchanges were discussed, including joint programs in Russian and English, exchanges of teachers, areas of scientific cooperation and joint scientific research.

It was jointly concluded that bilateral relations are developing within the framework of cooperation and mutual understanding between the two universities, with special emphasis on scientific cooperation and joint research in the field of finance and sustainable development. Indian and Russian partners expressed mutual intention to sign a cooperation agreement for 5 years.
