Founded in 1907
On the period from the 25th to 29 th November 2019 representatives of Plekhanov Russian Economic University visited the National University of Public Services, ESSCA School of Management and Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary within the framework of international cooperation. The purpose of the visit was to negotiate double diploma programs in international business and economics and to sign agreements on cooperation and exchange of teachers and students within the framework of the Erasmus Plus program, as well as to strengthen ties between European universities and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
On November 25 th, 2019 representatives of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, including Olga Shemetkova, the Dean of the Faculty of Finance, and Inga Koryagina, the Head of the International Division, had a meeting with the management of the National University of Public Service: Peter Smuck, the Dean of the Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies, and Peter Christian Zachar, the Deputy Dean of International Relations. During the negotiations they introduced the University, highlighting that the National University of Public Service has its roots in the history of the Hungarian Royal Military Academy "Louis", founded in 1808 by the decision of the National Assembly.
During the meeting Olga Shemetkova, Dean of the Faculty of Finance, highlighted the international relations in the field of education and expressed her intention for inter-university cooperation. Inga Koryagina, Head of the International Department of the Faculty, briefly presented the directions of possible future cooperation. Peter Smuk, noted that the University activity in the international area and involvement of new partners, students and foreign guests in the cooperation is a priority task for the Universities of Hungary. Szabolcz Pastor, Associate Professor at the National University of Public Administration, praised the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics for its high level of cooperation, where he has been teaching basic and master's courses in economics and international economics for five years.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further relations development between the universities with the involvement of business representatives of both countries.
At the meeting with Tamas Szemler, the Head of the Department of Economics and International Economics at the Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies, the main directions of cooperation between the universities and student exchange were discussed, as well as the key aspects of the double degree programs for students.
On November 26 th, 2019, Olga Shemetkova and Inga Koryagina took part in the International Teachers' Week, within the framework of which they presented the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and educational programs implemented at the Faculty of Finance.
The presentation sparked great interest of international participants from China, Egypt, Kenya and Georgia.
During the meeting with Boglarka Koller, the Vice- Rector for International Relations and Clara Breuer, Ambassador and the Head of International Office, both Hungarian and Russian sides shared the ideas of closer cooperation between the two universities in order to conclude a comprehensive cooperation agreement.
On November 27 th, 2019 a meeting with Doris Keszthelyi , Head of the International Relations Department was held at the Corvinus University. During the meeting Olga Shemetkova and Inga Koryagina discussed the issues of signing the agreement on cooperation between the universities and the possibility of implementing a bachelor double degree program.
Olga Shemetkova and Inga Koryagna also visited ESSCA School of Management in Budapest, which is one of the leading business schools in the world. Within the framework of the visit, a meeting with Zsuzsa Deli-Gray, Director of the Foundation of the Essca School of Management, was held, where the representatives of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics highlighted the significance of international relations in the education field and expressed their commitment to cooperation between universities.
As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached on strengthening ties between the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and National University of Public Service, Budapest, Hungary, development of exchange programs and double diplomas for bachelors and masters, and mutual lecturing within the framework of the Erasmus Plus program.
