The mission of the Sustainability Initiative at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics is to build a community of innovators for sustainability with our students and alumni, faculty and researchers, and partners in business, government, non-profit, and hybrid organizations. Together, we encourage innovation in products and services, management practices, business models, and are supporting market infrastructures that make effective, sustainable use of natural resources and that advance human welfare.
Plekhanov Russian University of Economics is committed to addressing critical sustainability challenges in our local and global communities. Our core mission of creating knowledge and our commitment to justice and common good, we seek to foster a deeper understanding and spur action on the issues.
The University is pursuing broad-based, practical approaches to sustainability, including an ambitious commitment to cut the using of paper for printing of documents in half by 2020. On campus, we are implementing real-world sustainability solutions, using the campus as a living laboratory and developing a long-term sustainability strategy to guide our work.
