​SPELL WELL: TEST YOUR ENGLISH!

 

In the framework of the Year of the English language and British literature in Russia 2016 British Council together with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the fund for citizens' language culture support "Total dictation" organizes the first open dictation in English in Russia. The project is held under support of the official authorized examination centre for IELTS admission in Russia - BKC-ih Moscow.

 

Everyone will be able to test their level of written English. The fragment which is used as the text for dictation is taken from a work of one of the leading young British writers, fully reflecting the specifics of the modern literary English language,

 

The text is to be read out by a well-known Russian and American journalist Vladimir Pozner, a public discussion on the English literature with whom is going to be held after the main body of the event.

 

The dictation text will be published on British Council website after December 15, and every member of the event will get their results by e-mail. Everyone of members will also receive the official certificate from the organizers and a discount for IELTS preparing courses.

 

Among the 10 authors of the best works 3 prizes will be awarded: certificates for a free IELTS exam and a trial IELTS exam, and also the famous book by Raymond Murphy "English Grammar in Use" with the autograph of the author. The award ceremony will take place at the Christmas reception at the residence of the British Ambassador to Russia in Moscow.

 

Participation in the event is strictly by registration.

 

The number of places is limited.

 

Online broadcast of the dictation will be carried out on the website of the TASS news Agency and Afisha portal.
